The Food and Drug Administration justannounced a recallon two Nature’s Path Organic Foods frozen waffle varieties. This is due to an undeclared peanut allergen in the products.
The gluten-free waffle products are sold nationwide in locations like Walmart, Target and other regional grocery stores. Check your freezer for these products and dispose of them immediately if you or someone in your household has a peanut allergy.
There are no illnesses currently connected to this recall. However, if someone with a peanut allergy were to consume one of these misbranded products, they could risk developing an allergic reaction as serious asanaphylaxis.
An anaphylactic reaction can be life-threatening, including symptoms like hives, nausea or vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea and, in most severe cases, tightness of the throat and cardiac arrest. The only treatment for anaphylaxis is epinephrine, so if you are experiencing any of the above symptoms after consuming this product, call 911 immediately.
