If you’ve resolved to eat more veggies in the new year, salads are your friend—and that includes the lovely, cozy warm salads of winter. Luckily for all of us, Giada De Laurentiis just shared her recipe for a warmRoasted Broccoli and Brussels Saladthat’s sure to hit the spot. On Instagram, she walked her fans through making the recipe and recommended it for a hearty lunch or a tasty dinner side.

To copy Giada’s dish, you’ll need plenty of broccoli and Brussels sprouts, plus salt, lemon zest and juice, olive oil, Calabrian chili paste, almonds, Parmesan and dates. The broccoli and Brussels sprouts that star in this salad make this side dishan anti-inflammatory option—the olive oil and almonds also help on that front.

After 25 minutes, they should be richly brown and ready to be dressed. For the dressing, combine lemon juice, lemon zest, olive oil, Calabrian chili paste and salt. Add the veggies to the dressing bowl and toss them until fully coated. Then add chopped almonds, diced Parmesan and sliced dates to the bowl. Toss everything together again, and you’re ready to serve.Pair the salad with a simple main dish, like ourGarlic-Butter Salmon Bites, for a hearty meal that won’t take much time to whip up. The combination of sweetness, nuttiness and savoriness means this side dish can pair well with just about anything, so feel free to make your favorite supper recipe for a fun meal.
