The Food and Drug Administration just announced a recall on Hy-Vee brand cream cheese and snack mixes.This is due to a possibleSalmonellacontamination.

Planters Just Recalled Peanuts in 5 States Due to Potential Listeria Contamination

The voluntary recall was announced after an independent manufacturer flagged the potential risk of foodborne illness. While no reports of illness are connected to this recall,Salmonellainfection can be serious for those age 65 or older, young children and immunocompromised people.Common symptoms ofSalmonellainfection include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.

If you are experiencing any of these symptoms after consuming one of the above recalled products, contact your health care provider immediately.Salmonellais very contagious, so be sure to wash your hands and any surfaces or food that may be exposed after handling these products.

Customers can return any recalled products to their local Hy-Vee location for a full refund. For questions about this recall, contact Hy-Vee Customer Care representatives at (800) 772-4098 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. CT Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
