1cupheavy cream
1tablespoonpure maple syrup
1poundstrawberries, trimmed and halved or quartered, if large

DirectionsWhisk flour, cocoa, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a large bowl. Whisk egg, milk, oil and vanilla in a medium bowl. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and whisk until just combined. Let stand for 10 minutes.Preheat a waffle iron to medium-high.Meanwhile, beat cream and maple syrup with an electric mixer in a large bowl until soft peaks form, about 3 minutes.Coat waffle iron with cooking spray. Add 1/2 cup batter and cook according to manufacturer’s directions. Repeat with the remaining batter. Serve the waffles topped with the whipped cream and strawberries.
