Ingredients

2(16-ounce) packagesfrozen pitted dark cherries, thawed

1(20 ounce) cancrushed pineapple in juice, drained

2teaspoonsvanilla extract

1(15.87-ounce) packageorganic vanilla cake mix (such as Miss Jones Baking Co.)

12tablespoons(1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted

Directions

Combine cherries, pineapple and vanilla in the prepared baking dish, stirring gently. Top evenly with cake mix. Pour melted butter over the cake mix, making sure to completely cover the cherry mixture.

Bake until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbly, 40 to 45 minutes. Let stand at room temperature until cooled slightly, about 15 minutes.
