Photo:Courtesy of BrandI’ve tried my fair share ofrunning shoesand workout sneakers, and one brand I always return to is Brooks. It has consistently put out pairs of shoes I gravitate towards, from the high cushion of the new Ghost Max, to the well-loved classic Ghost series. In fact, the newest launch from the line—the Ghost 16—has quickly become a new favorite. The brand launchedthis new modelback in early April. I was lucky enough to receive a pair for testing shortly after, and have been walking, training and running in them ever since. Each time I go to work out, I find myself always reaching for these sneakers thanks to a combination of their updated features and versatile design.Brooks Ghost 16Brooks$140 at Brooks RunningI’ve tried the Ghost line before. My sister passed down a barely-worn pair of the Ghost 12 sneaker, andI’ve also worn the Ghost 14. To me, one of the hallmarks of the shoe was always its lightweight design, and that’s been ever-present in the newest pair. The moment I put theGhost 16on, I felt like I was barely wearing anything on my feet. Where previous models were 10 or so ounces, this pair is 8.5 ounces, and I noticed that difference right away. Plus, their additional cushion and neutral support make these an easy-to-grab-for-everything shoe: walking, strength training, weekend errands, etc.The major updates of the sneaker are in the cushioning, which is meant to have an even softer, lighter feel. I can’t speak to how they feel compared to the previous Ghost 15 model, but when compared to models prior to that, I can definitely tell the difference. I also notice a little extra support on the arch of my foot, which I don’t typically notice with other sneakers, so that could be a nice addition if you prefer that.Eating Well / Kristin MontemaranoThe mesh upper continues to be incredibly breathable, if not more-so than in the past. I also appreciate the treading on the bottom, because these shoes remain stable on a wide range of surfaces. What also helps their versatility is the fact that the cushion smoothly transitions from heel to toe, so I feel like I can comfortably wear them for all of my workouts, whether in the gym or on the road. I stilllove and wear the Ghost Max shoe, which isthe brand’s maximum cushion versionof the Ghost sneaker, but it’s a little too much cushion for me for weight training. The Ghost 16 is available in a wide range of sizes, from a women’s 5 to 13. They also have different width options for folks with narrow or wider feet. They also come in 11 different colors, from all black to multicolored skylight, coconut, and sunset colored pairs. I personally own the black, gray, and white colorway, and love how they match with everything.Overall, I think these are great multifunctional sneakers to wear for everyday walks or runs, and even for training at the gym. They feel virtually weightless to me, which is what I love most. Their neutral support and added cushion makes them adaptable to a wide range of people, too. I think they’re a great pick if you’re looking for a pair of shoes that’s supportive, comfortable and effective, and doesn’t go overboard on bells and whistles you don’t need..Shop More Brooks Sneakers We Love:Ghost MaxBrooks$150 at Brooks RunningGhost 15Brooks$140$100 at Brooks RunningGlycerin GTS 20Brooks$160$100 at Brooks RunningAdrenaline GTS 22Brooks$140$90 at Brooks RunningTrace 3Brooks$100 at Brooks RunningAt the time of publishing, the price was $140.Was this page helpful? Thanks for your feedback!Tell us why!OtherSubmit
