Bettina Applewhite is a celebrated registered dietitian-nutritionist dedicated to showing how traditional cultural foods can be seamlessly integrated into a healthy lifestyle. Through her world travels, Bettina delves into the origins of traditional dishes, highlighting not only their nutritional value but also the emotional connections they create within communities.

With over a decade of experience in school nutrition, Bettina advocates for menus that honor the cultural diversity of the communities they serve. She partners with school districts and community organizations to promote education, culinary training, and diversity, equity, inclusion and access (DEIA) in school food programs. Her work has led her to conduct professional training across the U.S., advocating for more scratch-cooked meals in schools and menus that embrace cultural diversity.

In addition to her work in school nutrition, Bettina shares her love for cooking and teaching this life skill to people of all ages. She believes that healthy eating should be accessible and enjoyable, a philosophy she shares through her blog, Bites With Applewhite. By offering easy-to-follow recipes and practical advice, Bettina inspires her audience to embrace wellness through their own cultural foods.
