It’s the most wonderful time of the year! As in right now. At least in my opinion. Black Friday is the best time of the year to score major markdowns—and it brings me just as much joy as pulling that perfectly cooked turkey out of the oven did yesterday to get ahead on my holiday shopping. I love getting ahead of the rush and crossing off most of my list of gifts to buy for the holidays.
And this year I feel like I have more of an edge than I have in the past. That’s mostly because I have been spending hundreds of hours testing products, so I know what the best is—and even put a handful of items to the test myself. So, if you’re wondering what I, a shopping expert, have my eye on, well here it is. I had to lead with this deal—you can score a Lodge cast iron skillet for less than $20! But also, my Lodge cast iron skillet is the most-used piece of cookware in my kitchen. I sear salmon in it, I bake cornbread in it and it’s also my kitchen hack for roasting small batches of vegetables (which ishow we recommend using it).

It also comes with countertop organizers so you can keep your kitchen looking tidy.

Vitamix is practically synonymous with excellent blenders—and whenwe tested blenders, we found this model was more than powerful enough to whir through fruits or vegetables that have frozen together into clusters, despite its price tag being lower than other Vitamix models. I’ve been blending smoothies at home with this model for a couple months now and—admittedly it took me a little bit to adjust to how powerful it is. I’m still surprised it can work through a full cup of frozen whole strawberries without skipping a beat. I’m now convinced of its top-notch performance.
Calphalon 5.3-Quart Digital Saute Slow Cooker

This slow cooker made ourbest-tested listfor its medium capacity—though when we actually put it to the test we found the interior roomier than expected (it actually fit an entire pot roast inside!). We also really liked how the insert can be used on the stovetop and is dishwasher-safe. We found this Calphalon slow cooker cooked food evenly and played a cute jingle when it was done. And best of all—it’s under $100 right now!
All-Clad D3 Stainless Steel Tri-Ply Bonded 10-Piece Nonstick Cookware Set

Most nonstick pans don’t brown food as well as stainless steel pans, but when we tested this All-Clad set, we found it caramelizes food exceptionally well—thanks to its stainless steel body below the nonstick coating. All-Clad cookware rarely goes on sale, so grabbing this 10-piece set now for more than 30% off is a no brainer. It makes a great gift, too, for those who might be new homeowners, recently married or looking to upgrade their mismatched set.

Although you might think you’re getting two additional pieces of cookware (they say it’s a 12-piece set), they’re counting the four pan racks as part of the bundle.

I’ve always been a toaster gal, not a toaster oven gal. But this Breville combo air fryer toaster oven has me second-guessing my life choices. The Nordic Ware brand isour overall favorite when it comes to sheet pans—and this 3-piece set is a fantastic value. I love these for their sturdy material and rimmed sides. They’re also quite easy to clean despite the fact that they’re not nonstick. At this price, I plan to order at least one set to get me through all of the holiday cooking, which for me includes both cooking baking and simple weekday sheet-pan dinners during the holiday hubbub.
Anova Precision Vacuum Sealer

The “pulse vacuum” setting on this vacuum sealer is what sold me. It was one of the fewvacuum sealers that we testedthat could seal a bag of Chex cereal without crushing it to bits. So, if you’re like me, and plan to put up delicate summer berries (in addition to other foods, of course), this is a great investment. And although we’ve passed berry season, this price point has won me over. After all, what am I going to do with all of these leftovers?

I’ve happily owned three pairs of these trail running shoes and at this discount I’ll be buying my fourth pair. This trail running shoe is moderately cushioned and is immediately comfortable (no need to break it in!). It also seamlessly goes from a workout to running errands! When we tested it in our lab, other trail runners found it to be a light and springy shoe (almost like running in slippers some said) and had plenty of traction for light-to-moderate trails.
